A number of little galleries and ateliers along the harbour and in the town centre present changing exhibitions of artists from Northern Germany.
The studio Artequarium shows a various collection of photographs, paintings, drawings, sculptures and illustration arts. Additionaly the studio offers regular exhibitions and art workshops.

The former Railway Control Center shows a collection of the development of the signal box, signal engineering and office machine technique.

The clay relief in front of the Detlefsengymnasium consitsts out of 340 mosaic panels, created by students, teachers and external artists. The so called “placeholder” shows a variety of different topics such as historical quotes, person and motives related to science.
