The PaK\u2019s main focus, however, is on visual images, most of all paintings, photos, drawings and media arts.<\/p>\n<p>The name Palais f\u00fcr aktuelle Kunst (literally: Palace of Contemporary Art) refers to its location in a noble palace building from the 17th century. The landmarked house is an architectural jewel from the late Renaissance. The building has a clear interior structure with halls and back rooms where visitors can still find colourful wall paintings and original tiled stoves. The baroque garden has been rebuilt in accordance with its original design. The building is part of the preserved historic old town that was founded in the 17th century by the Danish Royal House.
